Asset Stack
Cross-asset confluence with flow intelligence. Pulls value zones from Chart, Correlation 1 & 2, and VIX onto a single chart — and detects when all four agree.
Cross-asset confluence in one tool.
Asset Stack is a four-part system. Cross-asset Dynamic FLB Zones project zones from up to four correlated assets onto your chart. The Leader Signal Engine detects when correlated mid-lines diverge in slope (coil) and then realign — firing a directional arrow before chart price has fully committed.
Stack Alignment is a real-time read of how many enabled assets are above or below their zones, producing a confluence score. Flow Intelligence is a confirmation layer that detects absorption and distribution pressure when price and flow disagree.
Zones. Where is value across the stack?
Leader Signal. Has structural direction committed before price?
Stack Alignment. How many correlated assets agree on bias?
Flow Intelligence. Does the tape confirm what price is showing?
One dropdown controls everything
Drop the tool on an index futures chart and Auto Mode does the rest. Advanced Mode unlocks manual control when you need to deviate from the standard setup.
Default — works out of the box
Uses your chart symbol as the Chart Asset. Auto-maps Correlation 1 and 2 (NQ → ES/YM, ES → NQ/YM, YM → ES/NQ, RTY → ES/YM, GC → SI/DX).
Enables VIX participation for index futures. Turns on Leader Signal and Flow Intelligence with tuned defaults.
Manual control unlocked
Asset selection, per-asset timing overrides, stack thresholds, slope tuning, normalization basis.
Use when running gold with different correlation assets, or building a scalping setup with tighter slope detection.
All styling and colors work identically in both modes. Auto only locks logic — never display. Background toggles, fill colors, line visibility, status table position all remain under your control.
The headline feature — structure before price
Leader Signals are based purely on mid-line slope alignment, not price breaking buy or sell lines. The signal fires before chart price has fully committed. By the time NQ actually breaks, you've already seen ES and YM mid-line structure agree.
Slopes disagreeing
Correlation 1 and 2 mid-line slopes disagree — one rising, one falling. Structural indecision in the broader market.
Coil must exist before a Leader Signal can fire. The status table flags 'Coil: YES'.
Slopes realign
Both correlation mid-line slopes turn the same direction. A directional arrow fires on your chart.
Price may still be sitting inside its zone — the signal reads structural direction, not price events.
All three mid-line slopes agree
When the chart asset's own mid-line slope joins the correlation slopes post-resolution, the signal grades A+.
Highlighted in white (configurable). Highest-conviction setups in the tool.
Leader Signals don't fire all day. On smooth trending days, correlation mid-lines slope together without ever disagreeing — no coil, no signal. The engine identifies regime inflection points, not trend continuation.
Volatility as the fourth vote
VIX integration adds a fourth asset to the stack: market volatility itself. When VIX agrees with the directional bias of the three correlation assets, alignment is stronger. When VIX is breaking its zone while NQ tries to hold — that's a divergence worth noting.
Volatility pivots
VIX is locked to institutional session anchors: 3:00 AM, 7:15 AM, 9:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 4:15 PM ET. Natural volatility pivots around Euro open, US premarket, NYSE open, recalibration, and close.
Closed window
VIX trades 3:00 AM – 4:15 PM ET. Outside that, the status table shows CLOSED and VIX doesn't contribute to alignment counts.
At 3:00 AM next day, the new VIX zone begins — seeded with previous 4:15 PM close values.
VIX above = SHORT
Recommended for index trading. VIX above its zone counts as a SHORT alignment vote (volatility expansion is bearish for indices).
Standard mode treats VIX like any asset. Display Only renders the zone but doesn't vote.
Recommended setting for index futures traders: Stack Participation = Inverted, Mitigation Source = VIX Price. Makes VIX a proper contrarian vote and only mitigates caps when volatility actually revisits that regime.
How confluence is measured
On each bar, every enabled asset has a state: ABOVE, INSIDE, or BELOW. The Long Align count is the number above. Short Align is the number below. When either hits the Required threshold, the corresponding Stack flag fires.
Maximum bullish
All four enabled assets above their buy lines. Maximum bullish confluence.
With VIX inverted: Chart, Corr 1, Corr 2 ABOVE; VIX BELOW its zone.
Maximum bearish
All four enabled assets below their sell lines. Maximum bearish confluence.
With VIX inverted: Chart, Corr 1, Corr 2 BELOW; VIX ABOVE its zone.
Threshold control
Require ALL Enabled (default). Every enabled asset must agree.
Minimum Aligned. Set 2 or 3 for partial confluence. Useful for stack alerts without waiting for universal agreement.
Absorption and distribution
Flow Intelligence detects moments where order flow pushes one way while price holds the opposite. Aggressive sellers hammering into price that won't drop. Aggressive buyers pushing into price that won't rise.
Lime circle below bar
Flow weakening, cumulative pressure bleeds down, but price refuses to drop. Passive demand soaking up aggressive supply.
Red circle above bar
Flow strengthening, cumulative pressure pushes up, but price refuses to rise. Buyers absorbed by passive supply.
Flow never overrides value
The hierarchy is enforced in code: value acceptance → stack alignment → leader signal → flow intelligence.
Flow confirms or refutes. It never creates a signal on its own.
Flow State vs Flow Event. Flow Event = the instant trigger (one-bar). Flow State = the latching regime (persists until invalidated). Read both — the event is the moment, the state is the session context.
Every input, by group
Asset Stack ships with proven defaults. Most traders never need to leave Auto Mode.
Mode & Zone Timing
| Operating Mode Auto | Auto uses defaults for logic settings. Advanced unlocks manual control over thresholds, slope tuning, normalization. |
| Zone Type Time Based | Time Based rebuilds zones every N bars. Session anchors zones to named sessions (NY Open, London, etc). |
| Session | When Zone Type = Session: New York, London, Asia, US Premarket, 3:50 Algo, Initial Balance. |
| Interval 1D | When Zone Type = Time Based. Default 1D anchors to daily session — highest-TF reference. Common alternatives: 60min, 30min, 15min, 5min. |
Leader Signal
| Enable Leader Signal On | Master on/off for the headline feature. |
| Show Signal Arrows On | Toggle arrows. When off, signals still fire (and alert) but aren't drawn. |
| Highlight A+ Grade Signals On | A+ signals tint with the A+ Highlight Color instead of standard long/short colors. |
VIX Zone
| Enable VIX Zone | Auto-enables on NQ/ES/YM/RTY charts; manual on others. |
| VIX Symbol TVC:VIX | Continuous VIX. CBOE:VIX is regular-hours only. |
| VIX Stack Participation Inverted | Inverted = correct for index trading (VIX above = SHORT alignment). Standard treats VIX like any asset. |
| End Cap Mitigation VIX Price | VIX Price (recommended): cap deletes when VIX traverses its raw range. Chart Price: mitigates when chart asset traverses normalized range. |
Flow Intelligence
| Enable Flow Intelligence On | Master on/off. |
| Flow Source Precision | Precision (Premium required), Auto (Precision with Standard fallback), or Standard (any plan). |
| Min Divergence (ticks) 4.0 | Minimum price displacement to register as meaningful. Filters noise. |
| Require FLB Value Context On | Bullish absorption only valid when chart isn't bearish (and vice versa). The hierarchy lock. |

Misreads to avoid
Asset Stack is a context tool, not a signal generator. The patterns below are the most common confusions.
Treating Stack alignment as a Leader Signal
Different concepts. Stack Long = price position. Leader Signal = mid-line slope structure. Trends with parallel mid-lines won't fire Leader even when Stack Long is true.
Forcing Pro mode on unsupported symbols
On non-index charts, Auto disables VIX. You can manually re-enable, but the inversion logic was tuned for indices — verify it makes sense for your asset before using.
Mismatched session anchors with the rest of the stack
If First Light Beacon is anchored to NY and Asset Stack is on Daily, the zones reflect different windows and can't be meaningfully compared. Always match anchors.
Trading Flow events without value context
Require FLB Value Context is on by default for a reason — flow without value alignment is noise. Don't disable the hierarchy lock unless you understand exactly why.
Disabling end caps to clean up the chart
End caps represent historical volatility regimes. Turning them off removes the institutional memory of where prior moves resolved. Use Max End Caps to limit count instead.
Reading VIX UNAVAILABLE as a bug
Flow Source UNAVAILABLE means the symbol or plan doesn't support high-resolution flow. Switch Flow Source to Auto or Standard. Free/Essential plans always show UNAVAILABLE on Precision.
Lowering Required threshold to get more signals
Setting Minimum Aligned to 2 makes alignment fire constantly. The whole point of full agreement is that disagreement is information. More signals isn't the goal.
Ignoring the status table
The status table shows every state at a glance — Long Align, Short Align, Coil, Leader Signal, VIX state, Flow State, Flow Event. Traders who don't read it miss half the tool.
Frequently asked
Zones are normalized into chart price space so they render alongside your chart asset. Display only — stack logic uses raw values internally. To see a correlation asset's native zones, load it on its own chart with First Light Beacon.
Stack Long describes price position, while Leader Signal requires a separate mid-line slope-disagreement pattern. Parallel slopes can therefore produce Stack Long without a Leader event. The marker identifies that product-defined condition; it does not forecast a regime change.
Flow events only fire when price and flow disagree meaningfully. On clean trending days where flow and price move together, there's no divergence. Try reducing Min Divergence (ticks) in Advanced, or verify Flow Source isn't UNAVAILABLE.
UNAVAILABLE means the selected mode did not receive the required flow resolution for the current symbol, plan, or feed. Auto can use its supported fallback and Standard selects the baseline source. Availability can change, so confirm current platform and plan support in the product documentation.
Asset Stack can be configured on supported stock or crypto charts, but Auto maps only its documented futures set and related micros. Other symbols require Advanced configuration and suitable correlation data. VIX context is disabled on non-index charts under the current product rules.
First Light Beacon organizes single-asset zones and its associated context layers. Asset Stack adds product-defined cross-asset and flow context. They can be used separately or together; adding another indicator does not guarantee more accurate decisions or results.
Mitigation requires full traversal — source must trade through both top AND bottom of the cap's range. In trending markets, one bound may never be crossed. By design. Reduce Max End Caps if the count becomes unwieldy.
Stop trading price. Trade value.
